After spending a year in Istanbul, Turkey, at age nineteen, Vyana went to law school to make a difference in the lives of women and girls internationally, focusing on human rights. She drafted and successfully lobbied the passage of Federal Legislation to assist people with disabilities in 1997. For her pro bono projects at the nation's capital, she received the Excellence for the Future Award, Center for Applied Legal Instruction, the 1997 National Pro Bono Publico Award, and the Pro Bono Students of America. She also received the Equal Justice Foundation Fellowship Grant and the Public Interest Award from Georgetown University Law Center and graduated with honors.

After a little over a year of civil rights trial work in Oakland, California, she founded her own law firm focusing solely on estate planning. The legal world valued her intelligence and strong work ethic, leaving most of her other innate gifts still untapped.

Sixteen years later, Vyana was able to bridge the duality of living a mythic life in the "real" world by selling her law practice and moving to Kona, Hawai'i, to open Mermaid Dreams Bed and Breakfast. She explores her femininity through the mythical mermaid experience. The mythic play reveals her greatest gifts.

The name Vyana is Sanskrit for "conscious touch." She offers aquatic meditative movement, mythic makeovers, sacred bathing, ancient anointing with essential oils, as well as mermaid coaching.

She obtained her training from the 13 Moon Mystery School, the Emerald Temple, Harbin School of Healing Arts, and is currently apprenticing with Aquamystica in Ashland, Oregon. She has been blessed with a family lineage of healing arts including Rolfing, Osteopathy, Naturopathy, Acupuncture, and Homeopathy. She honors all religions and mystical traditions in her work.

Born in Tacoma, Washington, Vyana spent her childhood fishing on the cold waters of Puget Sound, curious about what could possibly live in the darkness three-hundred feet below the surface. Vyana also stands for clean and healthy oceans.

She founded the Kona Mermaid School and the Mermaid Ambassador Program as a way to help others fall in love with the oceans again, to be ambassadors of the ocean and to discover their gifts through mythic play as mermaids.

She is currently involved with the Education Committee of the Hawai'i Dolphin Initiative on the Big Island of Hawai'i.
